What is the 'Stang?

“Short for Mustang, 'Stang refers to an automobile with great potential in visual aesthetics, performance and handling. Owners often find themselves overcome with the irresistible urge to modify, enhance and customize an otherwise adequate platform. Results are contagious and may result in traffic violations if not checked by a friend or spouse." 

I became all to familiar with the Mustang bug (it's a disease really) shortly after purchasing my first car, a 1988 Mustang GT. Over ten years later the original is gone and in its place is a 2006 Mustang GT. 

Besides the occassional car show and crusie, the weekend warrior started out visiting Island Dragway, Beaver Springs, and Maple Grove for grudge night matches. That, however, proved to be about who could spend the most money. So, the 'Stang turned into a road course car visiting Englishtown and New Jersey Motorsports Park's road courses.

That was fun for a while, until a friend introduced drifting. I am now hooked on this incredibly addicting sport which requires much more talent and control than one would think. Stay tuned!
